The Foundations of Wellness — What I believe as a Health Coach

You may be wondering what I believe as a Health Coach. And that makes sense. If we're going to be spending time together coaching, who are you talking to? Can you trust me? While the majority (90%) of our coaching will involve your thoughts, your perspective and the knowledge that you bring to the table, I will probably be sharing (~ 10%) best practices, standard recommendations, educational insights, and resources. But my job is not to push any method, diet or perspecitve. I am just another human being who might add to your perspective and we don't even have to agree! Here's what you might like to know:


I coach using a framework I call the D.I.G. framework: Digestion + Inflammation + Genes. Most of the lifestyle behaviors are related to this framework. If you are wanting to reduce digestive distress and inflammation and support your genes, then you are in the right place. Here are some of my foundational beliefs:


Nutrition: Fuel for Repair and Energy

I believe there’s no single “right” diet — your body is unique.


Together, we’ll explore foundations of wellness and real-food habits that balance blood sugar, boost energy, and support a healthy metabolism. I believe in FOOD FIRST.


If you’re navigating specific conditions, we’ll complement your practitioner’s care with functional nutrition strategies to help your body do what it was designed to do — repair and restore.


That said...If you tell me that you want to eat an Asparagus Only diet, I will probably have concerns and we can talk about that, too.


Reflection: How much protein are you getting daily — and how much do you think you should be getting? Do you know what the daily protein recommendation (heads up...there are some differences of opinion among the experts!)


Movement: Building Strength for Longevity

Movement is medicine. I believe that exercise is just as important, if not more important, as nutrition. Maintaining muscle is one of the strongest predictors of longevity and quality of life.


If exercise feels like a struggle, we’ll find ways to make it fit your reality. Doing anything is better than nothing!


Reflection: How could a consistent exercise rhythm improve your energy or success in daily life?


Sleep: The Reset Button

Sleep is when the body repairs and resets. Without it, everything else — mood, appetite, focus, energy — starts to unravel. Sleep feels like such a waste of time to many people, but it is CRUCIAL to health. So be prepared...I will be asking you about your sleep!


Reflection: What’s one small step you could take tonight to promote better sleep?


Stress Management: Building Everyday Resilience

Chronic stress affects everything — hormones, digestion, sleep, even metabolism.


If you want to brainstorm simple, practical tools like breath work, time management, and mindset reframes to reduce stress and build emotional resilience in real life, then coaching is perfect for you.


Reflection: Do you know which foods are inflammatory for you? Where do you notice the most tension or overwhelm in your day — and how might you create more space for calm?


Why a Personalized Approach Matters

There’s no one-size-fits-all plan. There's also no Magic Key. What works for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. Reject the sensational one miraculous answer on every other social media post.


Instead, coaching will help you find YOUR signature path (usually made up of a few key habits) that make you feel your best. My role as your coach is to help you discover what those are.


Whether your goal is more energy, mental clarity, healthy weight balance, or a better understanding of your body, our work together focuses on clarity, confidence, and long-term results — not quick fixes.
